Andre Barthelus Obituary

Andre Barthelus beloved husband, father, grand father, brother, uncle, and friend was born on September 19,1938 to the late Regina Dort and Laisee Barthelus in Sanoix, Haiti. He was the second eldest of five children. Andre was raised in haiti and attended elementary, middle and high school while there. In April of 1958 Andre met his true love Jeziclaire Romelus. They immediately fell in love and later married on June 15,1963. In July of 1984 Andre migrated to the United States in hopes of a better life. Andre along with his children resided in Elizabeth, NJ for many years. Andre was a long-time member of the Church of    God of Bethesda located in Linden, NJ. Andre worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He was a dedicated employee of Watson Metal for over twenty years.        In 2007 Andre retired from Watson Metal to care for his wife Jeziclaire who was very ill. Andre enjoyed and was well known for his singing, dancing, and most of all drumming.  He would sit with his grand children for hours singing, dancing and drumming  to his and their favorite Christian songs.  He was a star and an amazing role model to his family. He was a king. Andre was loved by everyone. He left a great impact on everyone he came across. He was loved by his family, community, and church.  On September 26, 2018 after many years of poor health, Andre Barthelus went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  During the last few days of his life, Andre was surrounded by his loved ones.  Andre Barthelus who is known as “Papi Bolo”  to his grandchildren, “Chelbe”  to his children, and “Papi” to his wife will never be forgotten.  He is lived by his wife Jeziclaire Romelus.  His five      children Wilbens, Watnel, Rosemane, Pierre Andre, and Edna Barthelus.  His three daughters-in-law Marie Denis Joubert, Claudette Marie    Jeannot, and Marie Pierre Barthelus and his two sons-in-law Pierre Fred Augustin, and Andre       Deus. Andre Barthelus is preceded by his sister Elicia Barthelus and his brothers Joseph Barthelus and Dieudoner Barthelus.Andre leaves behind his only living sibling Celladue Barthelus and his sisters-in-law Odette and Marlene Barthelus and his brother-in-law Emmanuel Romelus.  Andre is also lived by 25 grandchildren.  He leaves behind 12 grandsons: Wilgens, Mackenzie, Godson, Graison, Claude Andy, Wendy, and Kelly Barthelus, Watvens Jeannot, and Ansy, Jonathan, Moses, and Nathaniel Deus.  Thirteen granddaughters: Loudenie Jason, Fredlyne Roque, Jessica and Sherley Auguste, Clevelande Joseph-Dayton, Bianca Jeannot, Evelyne, Dieunane, Karine, Rose  Angelique, Sophonie, Cassandre  and Samaelle Barthelus.  Nine great grandsons: Yazir Jackson, Rayne Augustin, Aiden Deus, Deandre, Josiah, Denzel, Giannis, Kayden, and Kristen Barthelus.  Six great granddaughters:  Glorah Jason, Sasha Roque, Easton Augustin, Brooke Nelson, Isanie Barthelus, Brielle Merisima, and Aaudrey D’Haiti.  One granddaughter in law: Amanda Barthelus, and three  grandson-in-laws: Jean Jason, Angel Roque, and Darley Joseph-Dayton.  He also leaves behind an abundance of nieces, nephews,cousins and friends.Papi Bolo will truly be missed, and his legacy lives on forever.
