Welcome to the memorial page for

Clerveaux Benoit

September 23, 1943 ~ June 8, 2017 (age 73) 73 Years Old
Pastor Clerveaux Saquira Benoit was born in the province of Grand Desdunes, Haiti on September 23, 1943 as the first born to Saquira Benoit and his wife, Dorcillia Exantus.
Pastor Clerveaux Benoit completed his primary school in Desdunes and was affiliated with the Jean Jacques Boy Scout Club in Desdunes.  He later went to the City of Gonaïves to continue his education before finishing his education in Port-au-Prince.  He eventually returned to Desdunes to work on the farm with his father.
In 1967 he married his wife, Philomene Ovil, who predeceased him in 2012.  He was also predeceased by his first son, Alex, in 1994, and his brothers Prosper and Pierre Robert Benoit.  He is survived by 6 children: Marc Kendy, Evens, Tamarra and Clerlande with his wife Philomene, as well as Tarketia (Keisha) and Mary with his ex-wife, Tara Benoit, from another marriage. He was a loving, caring father and a great provider.
In 1974 Pastor Clerveaux Benoit migrated from Haiti to the U.S.A., where he lived in Newark, NJ for 12 years before eventually moving to Irvington, NJ in 1986.  In 1983, he started his career as a taxi driver and retired 4 years ago.
Pastor Clerveaux Benoit was a warrior for the Lord. He gave his life to Christ in the 1980’s and was ordained a Deacon in 1999.  He would visit various churches to preach as a pastor.  Most recently he joined the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Newark, under the leadership of Pastor Chrispin Wancique.  In his never-ending desire to serve Christ, Pastor Clerveaux Benoit went back to school, and in 2008 he graduated from Light House Christian College with a Bachelor’s degree in Theology.
Pastor Clerveaux Benoit was a loving and proud man who loved his family. He took pride in talking about his children, nieces, and nephews’ successes. He loved to tell people how many nurses, engineers, financial advisers, and other professionals he had in the family.  He was a fighter who fought hard until the end, and on June 8, 2017 he travelled to eternity.
As he rests in his eternal peace, we will miss him. We are crying because the separation is hard. Yet, we can rest assure that he is resting in the bosom of his Father, the creator of all things, the one true and living God, the Great I Am, the beginning and the end, the Alpha and Omega, and the Omniscience and Omnipotent God.
We will remember him through his work for God from all the churches he served. We will remember him as a host preacher teaching the word of God and winning souls, especially from his program on radio Verite. Most of all, we will remember him through his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his siblings.
Apart from his children mentioned above, Pastor Clerveaux Benoit is also survived by his grandchildren: Virlande (Sese), Olivia, Malia, Kamaria, Nolan Jr., Christopher, Joshua, and Emmanuel; His great grandchildren: Tristan, Lensky, and Courtney; His siblings: Carmelita Benoit (Destin), Altagrace Sylvain, Innocia Luxama, Jean Claude Benoit, Mary Lermissa Sylney, and Evana Benoit as well as a host of nephews and nieces.
Job 1:21 – Naked I came from my mother’s womb and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; May the name of the LORD be blessed and glorified!
