Djunkens “DJ” Valmont was born on September 30, 1980 in Port Au Prince, Haiti to the parentage of Andre Valmont and Marielle Andre. DJ entered the United States at the age of 7 and was raised in the Oranges before attending Jefferson High School in East Orange, New Jersey. Upon graduation he attended Union County College and continued his education by passing his CDL exam. DJ led a successful career as a professional CDL driver for H & S Enterprises Inc. and A & S Kinard in York, Pennsylvania.
DJ was a peoples’ person who would strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He was very easy-going and loved spending time and making memories with his family and friends. DJ would give advice to anyone who needed it because he genuinely wanted to see people succeed. DJ also loved to watch football and basketball and was a fan of the San Francisco 49ers and Miami Heat. Like any other dedicated fan, he would dress up in his teams’ gear and stand up for them as they played.
DJ was a proud father to his daughter Mia Jordan Valmont. He cared and provided for his daughter and bought her the best outfits a 3 year old could imagine. He loved to post pictures of Mia on Facebook and pretend that she made the posts and commented herself. DJ also enjoyed supporting her while she attended gymnastics and dance lessons and was overjoyed when his daughter started preschool.
On Wednesday January 17, 2018 DJ was called home to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents Andre and Marielle, his daughter, Mia, Mia’s mother, Wendy, and his brothers Patrick and Daniel. He is also survived by a host of other relatives from the families of Valmont, Raymond, Alverna, Adam, Alfred, Lendi, Depas and Leger. Lastly, he will also be missed by his dearest friends Manasse, Darnil, Standley and Tiffany. May he rest in peace.
