Eric Van Johnson “Zoom” born on March 9, 1956, to the parentage of Edna M. Johnson & Louis W. Johnson II. Zoom was born and raised in Orange, New Jersey; where he attended the Orange Public School System. Since the age of 9, he always worked and acquired the nickname “Zoom” from his Pee Wee Baker Days. He played football & basketball in high school, but he mastered the positions of cornerback & linebacker. Zoom was so fast as a speed of lightning rushing through. After graduating from Orange High School in 1974, Zoom went on to further his studies at Missouri Valley College. Zoom was a well-loved individual in which everyone he encountered loved him dearly. Eric was full of life and always had an infectious smile. Eric fathered a beautiful girl named Janele C. Dyer aka “Erica V. Johnson”.
Zoom had some hobbies that he cherished as well such as landscaping and lifting weights being two of them. Dairyland Ice Cream in Irvington, New Jersey was a place he loved to visit. Zoom enjoyed sports, and his favorite teams in football were the Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens, & Philadelphia Eagles. As far as other sports such as basketball his favorite team was the Golden State Warriors. He loved his Sunday football and looked forward to Sunday dinner.
Zoom was a man who dressed to impress who loved his stylish hats, however, wasn’t the formal type of dresser. He loved his casual outerwear. Besides him being an elegant dresser he was a family man. When it came to his mother and daughter, he was very over-protective and loving. Their bond was unbreakable.
Zoom worked for Orange Public Works for the last 25 plus years, he was an extremely hard worker; before becoming ill. You could always find him active with doing something.
