Gerard Petit-Frere

Gerard Petit-Frere was born on January 16, 1936, in Jacmel, Haiti to the late parentage of Marc Petit-Frere & Eximen Civil. Gerard; born and raised in Jacmel, later moved to Port-Au-Prince where he would meet Alida A Noel. The two would eventually tie the knot and bless the world with eight children, two boys, and six girls. Gerard loves the idea of having a big family because to Gerard family was everything. Gerard was a wonderful husband, an amazing dad, doing all that he can to make sure his family was well taken care of and happy.
Gerard worked as a jeweler, which was another passion of his. The ability to create art using his hands, and just knowing he can beautify the world of others, simply astonishing.  Gerard would quote “that every artist would dip his brush in his soul, paint his nature into pictures, to bring beauty to light.” Gerard was a peaceful man, always avoiding the temptations and corruption of the world. He would always live his life according to the word of God. Gerard was a God-fearing man but did have a liking for life. Gerard would see the beauty in the smallest of things, things that we sometimes take for granted.
The idea of enjoying all that surrounds you was Gerard message. He lived peacefully, religiously, and surround himself with beauty and family. Sadly, on July 31, 2017, Gerard heard the trumpet of the Lord, joining him in heaven, praising his holy name. He leaves behind surviving children; Jocelyn, Gladys, Yolette, Guerline, and Jean-Jean. Gerard also leaves behind seventeen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Gerard also leaves behind family and friends he met along the way. Gerard, you will be missed dearly, may he Rest In Peace.
