Welcome to the memorial page for

Jean Fils Jose

March 24, 1952 ~ July 15, 2017 (age 65) 65 Years Old
Jean Fils Jose (affectionately known as “Jean Claude”) was born to Marie Elmira Jose on March 19, 1952, at Esaie Gentile Hospital in Port-au- Prince, Haiti.  He was outspoken and stood firm on the ideas that he believed in.

He graduated from Alexandre Petion High School. Jean Claude continued his education by learning the trade of Taylorship at Hypolite Academy. During his adolescence, he spent his leisure time at St. Trinity Episcopal Church but his passion was Karate.  He mastered TaeKwondo, and was honored as a Black Belt, by his instructor.

He enjoyed swimming at the beach.  He loved his children very much. At the age of 22, Jean Claude, had his first daughter, Jasmine Jose. After some time, he had two daughters and three sons. In the year 1989, Jean Claude immigrated to the U.S.  He shared his life with his beloved, Avine Laurore, for over 21 years. He was passionate about spending time with his family and friends, whether it was helping or giving advice. He was devastated when he received news of the death of his eldest son, Junior Jose. This unfortunate event did not deter him from providing for his children and his beloved, Avine Laurore. He had a strong work ethic and worked very hard to provide for his family until 2004 (when he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer).

His battle with this chronic illness lasted for 13 years until July 15, 2017 (when passed away at 1a.m).  On his dying bed, he shipped food and other living necessities to his children in Haiti.  His life was full of passion and beauty.  It will be forever cherished by his mother Marie Elmira Jose; children: Jasmine Jose, Jeff Jose, Warren Jose, Rebecca Jose, and Esther Jose; his beloved Avine Laurore; his siblings: Vero, Mona and Fritzner Fils-aime; His nieces: Debora and Ketsia Moreau, Kattiana and David Theodore and Jeff Fils-Aime; his siblings-in-law: Miraclyde, Anatole Moreau; and his grandnephew Elijah Moreau; his aunts: Marie Therese Miller and Euphemie Jose; his uncles: Jean and Estagne Jose; and his cousins: Irvenzvil, Margarette, Jonas and Leonard Blanc.
