Milande Pierre-Louis

Milande Pierre-Louis, age 57 transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 2:39 am in Livingston, NJ with her family by her side after her brief struggle with cancer.

             Milande was born on December 14, 1960 in Desdune, Haiti to the late Joachim Pierre and Jesula Barthelemy. She obtained her education in Haiti and was a successful entrepreneur.  In February 1986, Milande married the love of her life of 32 yrs Desir Pierre-Louis. From this union they raised 5 children.  Milande and the children made their way to the US in 1999 after her husband migrated from Haiti to the US in search of a better opportunity.

Upon Milande’s arrival to the US she furthered her education and worked in the healthcare industry. Milande was a devoted and active Christian since Haiti and she served in the following ministries: church choir, the women’s ministry, Missionary Society, an active member of her Sunday school class and led the weekly prayer meeting. She loved serving God, loved her family and always looked for the best in everyone.

Milande was a loving wife, nurturing mother and grandmother, devoted sister, caring aunt and loyal friend. She was best known for her home cooked meals where she enjoyed feeding her family and loved ones.  Her contagious smile and warm spirit touched many lives.

Milande is survived by her husband Desir Pierre-Louis: her 5 children Desilien, Fedner, Mydege and Joshua (son-in-law),Mideline, and step-daughter- Denouse and Stephen (son-in-law), her 8 grand-children- Bradley, Brentley, Jason, Joshua, Stephanas, Samuel, Sarah and Salomon, brother Wisley Pierre and his wife, her sister Jeanne Pierre, her brother and sister in-laws (Pierre-Louis, William, Chesnel, Grace, Rositha & Christiana) a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, god children and number of close friends.
