Welcome to the memorial page for

Wedzer Toussaint

January 23, 1963 ~ September 13, 2017 (age 54) 54 Years Old
Wedzer Toussaint, better known as Maestro, was born on January 23, 1963 in Petit Goave, Haiti. He was only 54 years old. On September 13, 2017, he dropped his father at JFK Airport and then drove to the parking area to park his car in order to come back to help his father check his bags and say goodbye. He did not return to see his dad board the plane. His dad knew something was wrong because his son Wedzer would never let him leave without seeing him off.
Wedzer was the first born of the union between Evangelist Jean Alfred and Fortereuse Toussaint, deceased. He was the eldest of five siblings. Wedzer began to play the piano at a very early age, and he excelled at it, because he could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. Playing the piano became Wedzer’s true passion, his ministry. He graduated from Lycee Faustin Soulouque, High School, in Petit Goave. He became a popular musician in his native city of Petit Goaves. Later, he immigrated to the United States where he continued to devote his time to his passion, his love of music. He was well-known in New Jersey for his ministry and known as “Maestro Toussaint” for his musical abilities. He devoted much of his time, energy, and those same musical abilities as the organist to his church, the Haitian United Methodist Church, and many other churches in the community.
Wedzer loved helping people, not only his family and his friends, but everyone here today, young, old, has a testimony about his kindness and can attest to that. He was a God fearing man. Wedzer and the love his life, Merle Loiseau became husband and wife on December 8, 1994 and their union produced one son, Wedlee, the apple of his eye.
Wedzer was a son of the Most High God. He had a steadfast faith no matter the “storms and trials” or challenges he faced. That’s the life that we are celebrating and remembering, one full of love, faith and dedication to his family. He left to mourn his passing his beloved wife Merle Toussaint and his son Wedlee, his father Alfred Toussaint, his brothers: Ebson, Frednor,Wilfred and Roussel Toussaint, his sisters-in-law: Victorieuse, Keran, Marie Rosie and Solange Toussaint, Kerline, Verline, Marie Odile Loiseau, his mother-in-law, Marguerite Loiseau, his brothers-in-law: Patrick Rene, Karl Henry, Duvila, Yves-Andre, Stanley and Jean-Marie Loiseau, his uncles: Christian and stephen Toussaint, and his aunts: Mrs. Lherisson Georges, Mrs. St. Hubert Zamor, Mrs. Vilbrun Alezy, Mrs. Osette Louissaint and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces.
The Toussaint family lost a treasure, a gem, a walking, breathing example of love, caring and kindness not only to his family and friends but also to all those he came in contact with. We are going to miss him and through it all, we are standing on God’s promises to make something good out of the storms that bring devastation to our lives! ~Romans 8:28
