Yvonne Hilaire

Yvonne Hilaire, age 81, passed away in her sleep peacefully at her home in Parsippany, NJ, on May 20th, 2019.

She was born on November 8, 1928 in Borgne, Haiti to Lamercie Hilaire. She traveled far and wide to the countries of Martinique, Guadeloupe, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, buying and selling jewelry to support her family.

As a very hard-working lady, her wish was to give her kids a better education, as well as the world. When she came to America, she was a babysitter, as well as a caring grandmother all while raising her beloved grandson, Andy Hilaire. She was a devout Christian from the time she

was in Haiti to the time she arrived and attended Haitian Pentecostal Church as a regular. While there, she was

a valued prayer-warrior, along with her good friend, Sr. Andre Lubin. She was very self-sufficient and loved to be surrounded by her extended church family, who she says, "could have only be given to me by God Himself".

She is survived by her children Stanley Hilaire, Jean Hilaire, and Joseph Jean-Pierre as well as her grandchildren
