Camelia Lafontant

Camelia Lafontant est née le 22 novembre 1946 à Baconois, commune d’Anse-à-Veau, en Haïti. Elle était la troisième d'une famille de cinq enfants, née de  Rubin Lafontant d’ Altamonde Florestal. Elle effectua ses études primaires à Petit-Goâve avant de s’installer à Port-au-Prince, où elle travailla pour l’entreprise Typen Hauer. En 1966, elle épousa M. Escobal Dupoux (aujourd’hui décédé) à Port-au-Prince. De cette union sont nés quatre enfants: Berthe, Junior, Réginald et Rony. Camelia était une femme travailleuse, dévouée et profondément croyante. Elle nourrissait une grande passion pour la prière, les travaux de construction, et se distinguait par son souci constant d’aider les plus démunis. Sa gentillesse, sa générosité et sa foi inébranlable en Dieu ont marqué tous ceux qui ont eu le privilège de la connaître. Elle a vécu sa vie avec humilité, toujours guidée par la volonté divine et animée d’un amour sincère pour les autres. Après une longue maladie, Camelia Lafontant est entrée paisiblement dans le repos éternel le samedi 3 mai, au Complete Care Nursing Home de Clark, New Jersey. Elle laisse dans le deuil:

Camelia manquera profondément à sa famille, à ses proches, ainsi qu’à tous ceux qui ont été touchés par sa lumière. Son souvenir restera à jamais gravé dans nos cœurs.

Camelia Lafontant was born on November 22, 1946, in Baconois, a locality in the commune of Anse-à-Veau, Haiti. Her mother, Altamonde Florestal, is deceased, and her father, Rubin Lafontant, is also deceased. Camelia was the third of five children.

Camelia completed her primary education in Petit-Goâve, after which she moved to Port-au-Prince to work at the company Typen Hauer. In 1966, she married Escobal Dupoux (deceased) in Port-au-Prince, and together they had four children: Berthe, Junior, Reginald, and Rony.

Camelia was a hard-working woman. She loved to pray, enjoyed construction work, and was always eager to help those in need. Her kindness and generosity will be missed. She lived a life of faith, always seeking to do God's will and sharing her love with others.

On Saturday, May 3, after a long illness, Camelia peacefully entered eternal rest at Complete Care Nursing Home in Clark, NJ. She will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
