Charite Alerte Obituary

Today, November 21, 2020, we celebrate the life of Mr. Charité Alerte. He was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at 3:00 a.m.  He died peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Florida Medical Center.  Born in Grande Saline, Haiti, beloved son of the late Cenescar Alerte and the late Melia Eloissaint, he was a loving husband to his wife Madianie Alerte and a loving father and grandfather. Also, his predeceased sisters Marie and Thérèse Alerte.

In search of a better life for his family, he left his hometown and decided to enter the United States in 1978.  He moved to New Jersey, where he resided for 36 years.  He spent twenty-nine years working as a machinist in Kenilworth, New Jersey.  Having become convalescent, he left New Jersey and spent the last six years of his life in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Mr. Alerte was a man of quality, as he was respectful and respectable. A distinguished husband for his wife, a passionate father of his children, and a tolerant grandfather.  He was also a worker of integrity to whom we bore good testimony.  Above all, he was a man of God, faithful and honest in all his endeavors, fervent in his work, and obedient to spiritual authorities.  Speaking of the renowned temple of the faith, in Hebrews, it is written: "Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them " (Hebrews, 11:16).  These words can easily be attributed to Charite.  Members and clergy of Haitian Bethel Baptist Church of Newark bear witness to this, for he was a man of faith.

Mr. Alerte leaves behind, his wife Madianie Alerte and five children: Algerthe A. Gilot, Erno Alerte, Diderot Alerte, Beaudelaire Kervin Alerte, and Derlie Alerte.

Daughters-in-law: Nicole L. Camp-Alerte, Jackelin Alerte

Grandchildren :  Erno Alerte Jr., Shamira C. Gilot, Samuel Gilot, Jayden Alerte, Nigel B. Alerte, and Ethan Alerte.

Nephews and Nieces :  Jacques, Léonide, Dernier, Marie Lyla, Derland, Carmelia, and Oscar Desir.

Cousins :  Révérend Pasteur Lemaire Alerte and Family, Berthe Alerte Dalzon and family, Murat Mimy and family, Jean Mimy and family.

Sisters in Law :  Georgette Jean and family, Gina Joseph Jean and family.

We, The families mentioned above, present our sincere thanks and gratitude to all those who mourn with us during this painful time, from far and near.
