Claire H. Dauphin Obituary

We are all gathered here this morning today on Saturday August 8th, 2026 to celebrate and commemorate the life of Claire Heronne Dauphin. Those that knew her would tell you that she was known to be a very dedicated wife, mother, grand/great grandmother, sister, and overall wonderful human being. Unfortunately, it all came to an end on July 25th, 2026 where her life took an unexpected turn after going through a long and hard battle of illness.

To commence, Claire was born on December 6th, 1942 to both Lucien & Maccia Dauphin in a tiny village called Laraque in the L’artibonite Department in Haiti. She later went on to go live in a town called Gonaives where she resided for most of her young and adult years. Growing up Claire was known for having a very strong and tough exterior when it came to dealing with everyday life. However, she was also known for being extremely generous, compassionate, and thoughtful with everyone that she came across. One of her best traits that helped her out in life was her ability to learn quickly and complete any difficult task that was given to her. Those who knew her could attest and vouch for her that she had amazing skills from cooking to sewing. She honed her talents in sewing to the point where she became a professional seamstress that designed extravagant dresses for weddings, parties, and many other events. Due to her craftmanship and talents she gained popularity and respect from many people in her town.

Later on, Claire decided to embark on a new chapter by leaving Haiti and moving to the United States in 1987 for better opportunities. Upon arrival, she resided in Elizabeth, NJ and worked at Hamilton Laundromat in Rahway, NJ. After a couple years she went on to become a certified nursing assistant (CNA) at Amboy Care Center in Perth Amboy where she worked for several years until retirement. Many people from coworkers, patients, and bosses all admire her hard work, personality, and charm. They all craved her presence and would feel empty if she was not around to lighten up the day. As a result of her resilience and sacrifice she was able to provide for her children and other family members back in Haiti. Those that were close to her could tell you how much she loved, gave, and supported her family through thick and thin. So much so, that she would spend endless amounts of money whatever they asked for. For that reason, no one could say anything bad about her

Once again, Claire known for being a tough woman, fought through many hardships during her lifetime. From fighting through Covid, Dementia, and other health issues she made it her best to remain alive and stay afloat. Sadly, it was her time to leave this world and for her soul be at ease. She will always be remembered and cherished by those that truly loved and appreciated her. Moreover, she leaves behind many brothers and sisters: Yvette Dauphin, Serge Dauphin, Jean Felix Dauphin, Harry Dauphin, Chandelaire Dauphin, Hitler Dauphin, Ketsia Dauphin, Presmy Dauphin, Yves Dauphin, Jean Remy Dauphin. As well as two deceased siblings Altagrece and Dodet Dauphin. In addition, she leaves behind her three children: Nirlande Ganthier, Kenny Mauril, and Fedelyne Laurard, along with her step children James Mauril and Betty Mauril. Last but not least, she leaves behind a total of 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild plus 11 nieces & nephews which she all loved from the bottom of her heart. There is a whole book to be said about her but it would take an eternity to finish. Although, she is no longer with us but her spirit lives on forever. Claire will truly be missed by plenty and always remembered by the memories and good times she spent on this Earth. May her lovely soul rest in everlasting peace and continue to be praised for all time.
