Clercina Dieujuste Obituary

Clercina Dieujuste, born Clercina Noël on May 11, 1935, in Desdunes, Haiti from the union of Madeleine Joseph Limage and Hillius Noël, passed away on December 28, 2023, at Morristown Medical Center, in Morristown, New Jersey. Back in Haiti, to care for her children alongside her predeceased husband Sauveur Dieujuste, she bought unpeeled rice grains, which she transformed into eatable brown and white rice she resold for consumption. After all Clercina's offspring settled in the United States, she split her residency between the U.S. and Haiti, a way of sharing the good things of life with her loved ones without abandoning the land that gave her birth.

Clercina (affectionately known as 'Claire') took her last breath at around 2:30 AM at the aforesaid date and time in the warmth and comfort of her children, grandchildren, her son-in-law, her many daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. Following her colon cancer diagnosis, she left this world after two brief hospital stays.

Claire is survived by her children: Wilbert, Ferline, Gracia, Fanel, Wikinson, Emmanuel, Linson, and Stan, all bearing the proud 'Dieujuste' family name. She also left behind her grand-children: Wigymbert, Widlande, Wergelin, Widmyer Dieujuste (Wilbert Dieujuste’s children); Barbara, Herman, Jason Eloi (Ferline Eloi's children); Witchi, Fazenda, Brechman Dieujuste (Gracia Dieujuste's children); Abny, Chedler Pierre, Honobly Monace (Marie's children, a daughter who predeceased Claire); Fadeline and Rosefania Dieujuste (children of Fanel); Widgina, Widgerry Dieujuste (children of Wikinson Dieujuste); Emmanuela, Joshua, Jeremiah, Starvensky, Westalendji, and Avens Dieujuste (children of Emmanuel Dieujuste); Roomilins, Lens, Anascasia, Aliesha Dieujuste (children of Linson Dieujuste); Dave, Sazenda, Goslender, Sansiny,  Lensley Dieujuste (children of Stan Dieujuste). Claire is also survived by her great grandchildren: Adrian, Mahalia, Noah, Lilah, Abny Jr., Marcus, King Ronnie, Victoria, Leonardo, Kelly-Anders, Shedenaika, Soryama, Shedler, Wade-Brown Lee, Juzar Shede-Dahanna, Céline Dieujuste, Geanna, Kianna, Siana Clairgina , Prince Gedion.

In addition to son-in-law, Pierre I. Eloi, Claire is survived by a myriad of daughters-in-law: Marie Sainte, Yolane, Rosemène, Asselaine, Minouche, Linda, and Liane; nephews and nieces: Baptiste Noël, Eva Noel, Nassa Noel, Rogers Noel, Anne-Marie Noel, Viléus Noel, Alta Noel, Jésula Noel, Viccéus Noel, Lucide Dieujuste, and Robens Julien.

Claire was a loving person who was very much attached to Haiti. Each time she was in the United States, she went out of her way to share her meager finances with friends and distant relatives living in the first independent black republic. While Claire's smile and warm personality will be missed, we also celebrate the love and joy she bestowed upon so many during her 88 years on this earth.
