Clotaire ("Tisie") Jean-Philippe

Clotaire Jean-Philippe,  known as “Tisie,” passed away on August 25th, 2026, at the age of 74 following a battle with lung disease.

Born in Poteneau, Grande-Saline, Haiti, Ticieu grew up in Saint-Marc and was known for his outgoing personality, kind heart, and willingness to help others. After coming to the United States, he worked in New York City, where his older brother introduced him to the taxi business. He worked long days and nights and was known for his determination, resilience, and strong work ethic.

Tisie was the father of seven children, Riccardy (Nadia), Ford (Eliane), Edith (John), Siliana, Edson, Manoucheka (Johnny), and Ted, and was blessed with 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His grandchildren will always remember his affectionate habit of calling them “Hey Girl” and “Hey Boy,” a family memory that continues to bring smiles.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, surviving brothers Fils Jean-Philippe, Guy, and Biron, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by Elireste Morency, the mother of four of his children, and his siblings Andre, Robert, Evra, and Liliane.

Tisie will be remembered for his hard work, generosity, friendly spirit, and familiar smile.
