Corington Valentin A.K.A CJ was born on November 08, 2001, by Sherline Jean and Gaston Valentin, at Columbus Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. Corington grew up with his mother Sherline Jean and his grandmother Suze Etienne in Union New Jersey, later moved to West Orange, New Jersey in 2015, while his father Gaston Valentin resides in Haiti. Corington attended Burnet Middle school in Union and West Orange High. Corington enjoyed playing basketball and dancing, he was loved by many. His family and friends were always welcome by him. Many of his friends testified how Corington valued others’ well-being and was always ready to attend to the needs of others. Corington had many ambitions and goals that he was battling to achieve. One of his priorities was to ensure that his grandmother is well and cared for. He devoted much of his time as her guardian and her caregiver. He assisted her with her daily needs and financial needs. Unfortunately, Corington’s ambitions and goals were terminated very short, before terms by the horrific crime that took place on Tuesday, September 27th, 2022, at 3 pm. However, his touch and memories extend the quantity of time that he had. Corington left a hole in the heart of many of us here today, especially his mother Sherline Jean, and his grandmother Suze Etienne. Corington was the only child of his mother; however, he gained extended love from his surroundings and many of his supported friends. Corington was a son, a brother, and a go-to friend to many of us here. Corington, we did not expect you to go so soon. We did not expect your journey to be cut so short. The memories that you left with many of us will remain in our hearts and will never be forgotten. As we stand here today to say goodbye and lay you to rest, we want to say how much we going to miss you, we love you, and may your soul rest in peace. Today our heart is crying as our eyes, for we are saying like Job
“Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord” The consolation of the heart remains to God’s power and only. We ask God to heal our hearts, wipe our tears away, and teach us the way to continue our course, for we have faith in his promise. the scripture reads in Revelation 21:4 God will wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
