Dieufils Jean-Baptiste

Obituary

   Dieufils Jean-Baptiste was born on September 2, 1938 in Desdunes, Haiti to the late Fils Aimé Jean Baptiste and Jezula Telemaque. Dieufils was the oldest of seven children, he is survived by Magloire Jean-Baptiste, Vierge Ceus and Andre Jean-Baptiste. In addition he was predeceased by Nedulon Jean-Baptiste, Prefer Jean-Baptiste, and Erzila Jean-Baptiste.

   Dieufils was first and foremost a family man at heart. On June 10, 1962 he married his beautiful bride Atala Norelus and out of their union was born six children: Marie Silvana, Chavanne, Joleine, Sonique, Fritz, and Luckner.  Although Haiti was his first love, he came to the United States in 1980 to make a better life for himself and to provide for his family back home. He loved his family and was devoted to them especially his wife, Atala.

   Dieufils is survived by and leaves in mourning: His wife: Atala Jean-Baptiste of fifty-six years, His children (and their spouses): Marie Silvana Vital (Ripert Vital), Chavanne Jean-Baptiste (Chrislaine Jean-Baptiste), Joleine Odies (Luckner Odies), Sonique Dumerand (Edro Dumerand), Fritz Jean-Brian (Maria Jean-Brian), and Luckner Jean-Baptiste (Kerleen Jean-Baptiste), His grandchildren: Nirva Vital, Cathiana Vital, Perkens Vital, Christie Jean-Baptiste, Christopher Jean-Baptiste, Shahiana Odies, Elijah Odies, Isaiah Dumerand, Saraje Dumerand, Maurece Jean-Brian, Myree Jean-Brian, Kayla Jean-Baptiste and Leanna Jean-Baptiste,  His siblings: Magloire Jean-Baptiste, Vierge Ceus, and Andre Jean Baptiste;  and His: nephews, nieces, a host of relatives and friends.

   Dieufils memories will live on as a caring, hardworking, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His funny stories, smile, generosity, strength, kind and soft spoken spirit is what will be missed most by everyone. To us there will never be another Dieufils Jean-Baptiste.
