Elicaisse Noel Obituary

Born August 25 1934 at Baptiste (Belladères) Elicaisse Noel was the only son Almina Jean-Baptiste and Villy Noel. Elicaisse, spoiled by his four sisters, was admired by family and friends. Everyone called him "Premier" because he was always at the forefront, and ready to serve.

On May 17, 1957, he married his wife Andrena Jean and had five children: Rose, Idovic (Dodo), Eveline, Gladys and Micheline. He educated them to not only love God, but also to love their neighbors. Concerned not only with their scholarly education, he also emphasized spiritual education as the main center of the family. Morning devotions and family meetings were very important to him. Sadly, his wife Andrena departed before him on December 15, 2016.

Elicaisse was very popular in the community of Baptiste (Belladères) where he was an entrepreneur. He had factories in the coffee and food industry, shopping centers, and transportation services. His strong leading character is what made him well respected throughout the community and surrounding areas. He was the first, if not the only one, in that community to have built housing centers for the poor and destitute, helping to nourish them.

Who can honestly say they do not know Elicaisse Noel in this community? He was a great counselor. Elicaisse never hesitated to leave his comfort zone to preach the Gospel in remote areas. Whether it be on foot or horseback he made it his mission to bless those he met both spiritually and financially. Elicaisse was a man of prayer, sometimes he would wake up in the middle of the night to meditate or spend time praying. Despite being a very personal man, he could tell a joke and have you laughing for countless hours.

Finally, his children grew older and left Haiti to reside in the United States where they created their own families. Elicaisse had visited the United States several times but refused to stay there permanently. In 2014, unfortunately, he became ill and his health began deteriorating gradually. His children decided to make him stay so they can take care of him. After a long journey, on March 17th 2020, Elicaisse passed away leaving behind his only sister Ervilia Exilus and her husband, and his beloved children: Rose, Idovic and his wife Elvire, Eveline, Gladys and her husband Jacques, Micheline and her husband Alex; his grandchildren: Rony and his wife Regina, Alan, Judy, Keisha, Kevin, Kendra, Carl, Diane, Tyra, Samantha, and great-granddaughter Rileigh, his nephews, nieces, cousins, adopted family and all the affected people.
