ELISENA JEAN PHILIPPE was born on November 10th, 1948, in Dessaline, Haiti to the parentage of the late Antoine Zamor and Christiana Elinor. She left Haiti at the age of 54 when her parents died and went to be an at home caregiver.
WALNER PIERRE, my father, grew up in a close-knot family with four siblings. Among them, three siblings, who are both my uncles, LONY PIERRE and ANTOINE PIERRE, are still with us today, cherishing the family bonds that have shaped their lives. Sadly, two siblings, HENRY CLAUDE and ANGELINE PIERRE, my aunt and my uncle, are no longer with us but remains forever in our hearts and memories.
ELISENA JEAN PHILIPPE was loved by friends and family. She had a wonderful heart and passion for kids like they were her own.
Elisena always ensured that everyone was taken care of regardless of what they need. She had an amazing heart.
From a young age, Elisena found peace and purpose in nature. She loved being in and nature and on her farm, where she discovered the joy of planting and nurturing life. Growing fruits and vegetables from the soil gave her not just a sense of accomplishment but also a deep connection to the world around her. She would marvel at how the earth could flourish when cared for, and this connection brought her immense peace and perspective. What she grew not only nourished her family but also reflected the love and dedication she poured into everything she touched.
As she grew older, her love for nature became intertwined with her devotion to her children and grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the soil to those she held dearest. As a grandmother, she was deeply devoted to my brother and me, teaching us the skills we would need to face the world and offering wisdom and guidance we will carry forever. She cherished spending time with us, whether it was through storytelling, instilling wisdom or simply ensuring our safety as we played outside with our friends while we were kids.
Elisena was more than a grandmother—she was a protector, a teacher, and a source of love and laughter. Her presence was a gift, her strength was unmatched, and her legacy will live on in the love she instilled in all of us. Today, we celebrate the beautiful life she lived and honor the lessons she so gracefully taught us, lessons that will remain with us always.
On NOVEMBER 15, 2024, at 7:20pm, ELISENA was called home to be with the Lord.
Sharing the memories of her wonderful life is my brother, CHRISTOPHER PIERRE.
