Emilie Jean

Emilie was born on April 29, 1929, in Cavallon, Haiti to the parentage of the late Philippe Lapointe and Suprela Platel. Emilie completed middle school and then went on to work as a cashier in a grocery store. She later opened her own grocery store and had lots of business there. She left Haiti at the age of 68 when her children filed for her to come live in America for a better life. She was a doting mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to all of her children and children's children.

Emilie was a fierce woman and a force to be reckoned with! She was a confidant to everyone and loved by all.

While residing in the U.S., Emilie became a citizen. Living with her daughter Audlene, she cared for and provided for her family. Emilie loved to spend time with and take care of her grandchildren. She also loved going to church, reading the Bible, and singing songs of worship, often gathering her family in her room at night to praise and worship the Lord.

From an early age, Emilie taught her children and grandchildren about the love and grace of God. 

 Despite the odds of her illness, Emilie was known as someone with a strong spirit who never gave up. Emilie proved that only God has the final say, when doctors said she wouldn't last a week she went on to fight for a whole year until her last breath. Emilie left a lasting lineage and many great memories for her loved ones to look back on.

On February 3, 2025, Emilie was called home to be with the
