My heart is heavy as I share the passing of my father, Ernst Sylverain, who left this world far too soon after suffering a sudden heart attack. There are no words that can fully describe the void his absence has left in our lives, but I write this in honor of the man who shaped me, loved me, and raised me with all the strength he had. He left behind a son, daughter & a wife, Giovanni & Wesline. He was the son of Bernadette Sylverain and Archange Paul Blanc. He had 4 sisters and 2 brothers: Margarat Paul Blanc , Doctor Alfred Sylverain, Ketlie Sylverain, Mireille Paul Blanc, Gerty Paul Blanc, Peggy Paul Blanc. He was an accountant in Haiti and went to school to become a nurse in the U.S He was born on September 10, 1969, and died November 15th,2025.
My father, Ernst, was a man of quiet wisdom, steady hands, and a heart big enough to hold our entire family together. He worked hard, smiled easily, and loved deeply. He taught me what kindness looks like, what patience sounds like, and what it means to stand tall even when life is difficult. He was the kind of father who showed up — for every milestone, every moment, every little piece of my life that mattered.
Losing him so suddenly has been the hardest thing I have ever faced. One moment he was here, and the next, everything changed. I miss his voice, his laugh, the way he said my name,
and the peace I felt just knowing he was nearby. I miss the advice I didn’t get the chance to hear, and the future moments we were supposed to share.
But even in my grief, I am grateful — grateful that I got to call him my father, grateful for every memory, every lesson, and every bit of love he poured into me. His legacy lives on not only in the things he accomplished, but in the person, I am because of him.
My father, Ernst Sylverain, was more than the years he lived. He was love, guidance, strength, and home. And though he is no longer physically with me, I will carry him in my heart for the rest of my life.
Rest in peace, Daddy. I love you forever.
