Eva Grace Malcolm was born on April 17, 2005 in Brooklyn, New York to Mulushewa Tesfaye Hailegnaw-Malcolm and Garth Alexander Malcolm. As a tenacious student, Eva graduated from Bard High School Early College of Newark, NJ in 2023 with an Associate Degree in Arts. Eva went on to earn her B.A. degree in psychology from Montclair State University in 2025.
Eva was a highly intelligent person who had a zest for life and a passion for drawing, writing, singing and dancing. She especially enjoyed playing the electric guitar and jewelry designing. She was always there to give advice to friends and those in need and commit to anything she did or to anyone she became close with. Eva brought joy to all who knew her. Her favorite color purple was indicative of her rich, royal character - loving, caring, perhaps a tad crazy, and happy. She leaves us with a legacy to strive to do better and to be kind to others.
On Monday, March 16, 2026, Eva was called home to be with the Lord.
She is survived by her mother, father, brother Maxon, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends who will sadly miss her. Eva's presence will be sorely missed. We let go of a remarkable, young, beautiful, loving daughter, and a kind and powerful soul. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the love, joy, and kindness that were the essence of Eva's being.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who loved and supported Eva.
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart."
—Proverbs 3:5
