Flerinor Merant was born in St. Marc, Haiti on June 6th, 1944. Died on August 11, 2023 at 10:45 P.M. at Beth Israel Hospital, Newark NJ, after he fought very hard with prostate cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Seret Merant and Flerina Altenor. He was one of the 17 children. Flerinor started farming at a very young age, where he raised fruits, vegetables and living animals. He was always willing to share his crops with friends and family during harvest time. Flerinor was best known for being the mediator of the family and a generous man, he had a heart of gold, a contagious smile, was very soft spoken, and touched so many lives.
Some of Flerinor’s hobbies were going to Haitian bal (parties), his favorite Haitian band was Tropicana. His favorite Haitian soccer team was Tempete De St. Marc. His favorite Haitian food was Rice with Okra (Kalalou) and Jute Leaves (Lalo).

Florinor is survived by 7 children: Makens, Seret, Risseau, Jolene, Roseline, Ernst, Josette and (7) grandchildren: Scardine, Nickenson, Oldens,Sensdina,
Donovens, Slardine, Navens, Christian, and Ryan. He was a devoted father, grand-father and was loved by so many. He will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who knew him.
