Frank J. Dempaire Obituary

“There is a time to laugh and a time to cry.” Today, with heavy hearts, we remember the life of our beloved brother, father, partner, and friend Frank Junior Dempaire, who left us far too soon. Frank was born on November 24, 1980, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Carmelie Altidor and Jean Remy Dempaire. He was the youngest of four brothers, Belizer Dempaire, the eldest, followed by Yvens, Dudley, and then Frank, the baby of the family. Frank began his education at Central School in Orange, New Jersey. In 1994, after his parents moved the family to Newark, he continued his studies at Mt. Vernon Middle School. For high school, Frank attended Chad Science Academy, where he excelled academically and shined as an athlete. After graduation, he pursued studies in IT at Essex County College, but when his mother fell ill, Frank selflessly paused his education to help care for her, an early reflection of the loyalty and compassion that defined his life. In his professional life, Frank built a remarkable career in the insurance industry. He first worked with UnitedHealthcare before joining Humana, quickly rising to become one of their top-performing agents nationwide. He was proud of his work and found purpose in helping families protect what mattered most. Beyond his career, Frank lived with passion and joy. He was a devoted Miami Dolphins fan (Fins Up) and loved football so much that he traveled to games in New Jersey, Florida, and California to support his team. He enjoyed riding his bike, listening to music, playing dominoes, and spending time with family. He loved to travel, with memorable trips to Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic, he cherished every adventure, big or small, with his loved ones. Frank also carried deep pride in his Haitian roots, embracing the culture, music, and traditions that shaped him. His love for being Haitian was something he shared openly, and it was an important part of his identity. Of all his blessings, none was greater than his daughter, Starr Carmelie Dempaire, just 22 months old. She was his most cherished gift, the joy of his heart, and his proudest accomplishment. Every plan Frank made for the future, including his goal of purchasing a home this year, was rooted in his love and devotion to her. For the past five years, Frank shared his life with his girlfriend Flavilla and her children, Amari, Amir, and Amiyah, who came to know him as a father figure. He embraced them with the same love and care that he gave to Starr, creating a blended family filled with warmth and togetherness. Frank will always be remembered for his kindness, his quiet strength, and the joy he brought into the lives of others. On September 7, 2025, he attended a Buffalo Bills vs. Baltimore Ravens game with his lifelong best friend Carlos, a gift of tickets he had purchased to do something special for him. In the early morning of September 8th, while driving home, they were tragically rear-ended by a tractor trailer. Though their passing brings immeasurable sorrow, there is comfort in knowing they gained their wings together after sharing the sport they both loved. Frank’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. Yet even in this grief, we celebrate the life he lived, one filled with devotion, generosity, and love. We find comfort in knowing that God gives and God takes away. May His will be done. Rest in peace, our beloved father, brother, partner, and friend. Frank, you will live forever in our hearts and memories. We will never forget you. He is survived by his daughter Starr Carmelie Dempaire, his girlfriend Flavilla, her children Amari, Amir, and Amiyah, his brothers Belizer, Yvens, and Dudley, and a host of extended family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
