Gardy Dorvil was born in Saint-Marc, Haiti, on May 11th, 1964. He was the son of the late Sylvian Dorvil and Ala Dorvil. Gardy was the sixth child among seven siblings: Geline Dorvil, Therese Leïde Dorvil, Marie Silianne Jules, Harold Dorvil, Faubert Dorvil and Ariste Dorvil. In September 1992, he married his love, Victoire Presendieu, with whom he shared over 30 years of marriage. He was blessed with a daughter, Herla while continuing his studies in his early 20’s and welcomed three additional daughters Smine, Garvica, and Giannah with his loving wife. He cherished his role as a grandfather of two, Sebastian and Madisyn. Gardy completed his studies in Saint-Marc, Haiti, driven by a desire to build a better life, he sought opportunities abroad and relocated to the United States at the age of 25. Upon arriving in the United States, Gardy worked different jobs to secure his dream. For more than 20 years, he worked diligently as a dietary cook, tirelessly and proudly providing for his family. Gardy was passionate about his job and was often reluctant to take time off. Gardy was best known for his kindness, selflessness, sense of humor, and ability to forge friendships wherever he went, but he found the most joy in spending time with his family and grandchildren. Gardy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and cherished member of his community, embodying the highest qualities of care, love, hard work, and friendship. His presence brought comfort and happiness to all who knew him. In 2023, Gardy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, a battle he faced courageously. Gardy did not have to fight alone, he was surrounded by the love of his family and friends. On June 15th, 2024, Gardy was called home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and enduring spirit. While we mourn his loss deeply, Gardy's memory will forever reside in our hearts as we will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace. Gardy is survived by his loving wife, Victoire Dorvil, his children, Herla, Smine, Garvica, and Giannah, grandchildren, Sebastian and Madisyn, siblings, Geline, Therese Leïde, Marie Silianne, Harold, Faubert, and Ariste. His aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends who will continue to cherish his memory.
