Gesler Exavier was born on February 12, 1974, in Desdunes, Haiti, to his loving parents Mme Dieudira and Mr. Dieudira Exavier. He grew up in a family of six children and was the fourth child among his siblings.
In 1995, driven by hope and determination, Gesler left Haiti in search of a better life. Though he carried his dreams with him, he also carried the weight of leaving behind his four beloved children: Keslaire Biddsgeson, Kessy Goodwins, Joshua Joevany, and Wood Exavier.
Gesler was known by everyone as a true people person. If someone needed help, he was there — even when he didn’t have enough for himself. What made him remarkable was his willingness to borrow from others just so he could help someone in need. His generosity was not occasional; it was who he was at his core.
He was a loving man who embraced everyone with warmth. He cared deeply for his cousins and friends, sometimes giving so much of himself that he forgot to take care of those closest to him. Above all, his mother held the most special place in his heart. One of his greatest dreams was to bring her back to Haiti one day, a dream he unfortunately did not get to fulfill.
On March 8, 2026, Gesler spent a peaceful day at his mother’s home, sharing quality time with her and his brother, Luckson Exavier. He showed no signs of illness or discomfort. The next morning, March 9, he woke up, showered, had breakfast, and left to get a haircut. Everything seemed normal and well-planned.
But on his way back home, he suddenly collapsed. A bystander rushed to his side, realized he was unresponsive, and immediately called 911. Paramedics arrived within minutes, performed CPR, and transported him to the hospital. Around 3:30 PM, his brother Sénéque Exavier received the devastating call informing him that Gesler had passed away. Sénéque rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed there was nothing more they could do.
The news was heartbreaking for the entire family. Gesler had not been sick, and his sudden passing left a deep void in the hearts of all who loved him.
Gesler Exavier lived a life defined by kindness, loyalty, and love. His spirit touched many, and his memory will continue to shine through the people he helped, the family he cherished, and the love he gave so freely.
May he rest in eternal peace.
