Immaculeu Daguerre, lovingly known as “Chimene,” was born on January 20, 1958, in Cabaret, Haiti, to the late Dorvil Ameris and Esther Innocent.
Chimene was a woman full of life, love, and compassion. She carried a joyful spirit and a generous heart, always ready to help others in any way she could. Her greatest pride and deepest love were her children, whom she cherished and cared for with unwavering devotion.
After completing her education in Haiti, Chimene worked in the field of electronics and as a mechanical engineer. When she was not working, she enjoyed selling various items, a reflection of her hardworking and resourceful spirit.
With courage and determination, Chimene migrated to the United States in 1985 in search of a better life and greater opportunities. She took English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at Union College of New Jersey in Elizabeth, New Jersey, as she adapted to her new environment and continued building a life for herself and her family. She was previously married to Joseph Daguerre in 1997, and from that union came her beloved children, who were her greatest joy and whom she raised with unwavering love and devotion.
She dedicated many years of her life working at Frigidaire until the company relocated. Even while working, Chimene remained selfless, often sending items and support back home to those in need—this was simply who she was.
In 2003, her health took a turn for the worse, but even through illness, Chimene remained strong in spirit and firm in her faith.
She devoted her life to raising her children and serving the Lord faithfully. A devoted member of St. Michael’s Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey, she was actively involved in her church community, including singing in the choir. Her presence in the church reflected her deep faith, humility, and love for serving others. Because of her strong faith in God, this same devotion was reflected in her sons, who served the Lord with all their hearts as altar servers—an extension of the faith and values she instilled in them.
On April 1, 2026, Immaculeu entered eternal rest. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace, resting in God’s eternal grace.
She leaves behind to cherish her precious memory her beloved sons, Dolnick Daguerre and Taylor Daguerre; her sisters, Jeanne Simon and Nandie Americe-Lebrun; her brother, Orga Sagaille; her former husband, Joseph Daguerre; her nieces, Jeanne Simon-Louis, Stephanie Raymond, and Medgine Noel; her nephews, Junior Simon and Orgason Sagaille; along with a host of extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones.
Chimene will always be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her faith in God, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Mesaj an Kreyòl:
Jodi a, menm si kè nou lou, nou jwenn konsolasyon nan Bondye, paske nou konnen li jwenn repo li nan men Senyè a. Bon Dye bay, Bon Dye pran. Beni swa non Senyè a. Repoze an pè, Chimene. Nou pap janm bliye ou.
