Jacqueline Borgella

Mrs. Jacqueline Borgella Lahens-Fils, affectionately known as Jacqueline, passed away on December 19th, 2025, in Union, New Jersey, at the age of 81.

Born into a loving family of eight children, she was the seventh child—a position that shaped her gentle spirit, her humility, and her deep appreciation for family bonds.

During her graceful and dignified life, Jacqueline met the man who would become her lifelong partner. She married in 1962, beginning a union built on mutual respect, devotion, and shared purpose. Together, they raised seven children and later welcomed six grandchildren who became the joy of her later years. Her family was her greatest pride, and she dedicated her life to nurturing, guiding, and uplifting each of them.

In 2002, like many Haitian parents seeking better opportunities for their families, Jacqueline made the courageous decision to leave Haiti and migrate to the United States. Her goal was simple yet profound: to continue supporting and educating her children, ensuring they had every chance to succeed. Her sense of responsibility as a mother was unwavering, and her sacrifices became the foundation upon which her family built their future.

In 2017, Jacqueline returned to Haiti to attend the funeral of her beloved brother, Azou. The emotional weight of that loss deeply affected her, and during that trip she suffered a severe stroke. From that moment on, her health began to decline, marking the beginning of a long and difficult journey. Despite her challenges, she remained surrounded by the love and care of her family until her peaceful passing on December 19th, 2025.

Jacqueline leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, compassion, and unconditional love. Her life was a testament to the power of family, faith, and perseverance. She will be remembered not only for the sacrifices she made, but for the warmth she carried, the wisdom she shared, and the love she gave so freely.

May her soul rest in eternal paradise.
