Jayson “Ralphy” Merceda was born February 3, 1993 in Livingston, NJ to Wilton and Syllia Merceda.
In his early years, Jayson attended elementary school at St John Vianney Catholic School in Colonia, NJ. While in high school, he joined the football and basketball team. In 2011, he graduated from Carson Long Military Academy. He was accepted to Kean University, where he Major in Business.
Jayson worked at Shop Rite, Colgate-Palmolive but, had a desire to start his own business. He started his own coaching business called Opportune Marketing, to help businesses have an online presence. He loved to laugh, and he loved to make others laugh. He is known for saying “You don’t really know what you can do unless you try.” He was known for enjoying the latest fashions and working out.“
Jayson was a pillar of strength for his family and friends. In times of joy, he celebrated with us, and in times of sorrow, he provided comfort and solace. He had a remarkable ability to see the best in others and a helping hand when needed most. His generosity knew no bounds, and his capacity for empathy was a guiding light for us all. His favorite saying was “You don’t really know what you can do unless you try.”
Jayson leaves to mourn his mother Syllia and father Wilton, Sibling William Shelton Merceda, and his sister-in-law Isabel Merceda, of Colonia, New Jersey. He also leaves to mourn aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, godmother, godfather, and loved ones.
As we say our final goodbyes to Jayson, our “Ralphy” let us remember the profound impact he had on each of our lives. We all share stories with Jayson, his memory will forever be etched in our hearts, a reminder of the power of love, kindness, and living life to the fullest. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit lives on in the memories we share, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave.
We will miss his good spirit and enthusiasm for life.
