Jean Joseph Jean-Pierre

On Thursday, February 10, 1944, Jean Joseph Jean Pierre, known to all as Petit Jean, was born in Au Cap, Haiti, to Appolon Jean Pierre and Elizabeth Jean Pierre. Raised alongside nine brothers, Petit Jean attended boarding school in Port-au-Prince, where he met Louis, the friend who would remain by his side for life. In November 1975, he migrated to the United States in search of new opportunities.

Petit Jean, affectionately known as "Pappi" or "Daddy", went on to have five children of his own: one son and four daughters. As a husband, he showed what true love and commitment looked like. As a father, he gave his children guidance, support, and unwavering love. As a grandfather, he created memories that will stay with his family forever.

If you knew Petit Jean, you knew he loved people. He was a quiet comedian who always found a reason to laugh with those around him, and his sense of humor brought joy to family gatherings and ordinary days alike.

On June 5, 2026, our irreplaceable Petit Jean passed peacefully in his sleep, transitioning into eternity. We are grateful for the 82 years of memories he gave us. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Marie Lourdes; his children, Lynda, Emmanuella, Josue, Lucile, and Annie; and his nine grandchildren, Dhiandra, Leiyana, Ysrael, Janaiah, Chloé, Jeremiah, Adele, Elias, and Avil Josiah.

Though we will miss his voice, his laughter, and his presence, we are grateful for the years we shared with him and for the impact he had on our lives. Our hearts may still be heavy with grief, but today we find comfort knowing his legacy lives on through his family, and knowing that he is with Jesus, laughing it up.

We will carry his strength, his humor, and his love with us every day.
