Jean W. Francilme has passed away. Born Wilfrid Similien, he was gem in the eyes of many. In his short life, he affected a lot of people in several ways and the result of his impact will last for a very long time.
Born in Petite Desdunes on April 23rd,1963 to Dieula and Charlesia Similien, as the 2nd of 4 children. As many who knew him at that would say, He was a bright young boy, and he was even brighter as he became a man. He was always available to help out with anything whenever required. He was a man with few words, quite reserved. He grow up on a catholic church as a child, and did received his first communion when he was about 10 years old. As he grew older, he seek God in his own way and lived by his word diligently.
Even though obstacles were always in his ways, he made education his priority. He attended Lycee Fabre Jefrare Des Gonaïves, and his friends vouched for him that he was the smartest. He was always consistent with what he wanted to do, which was playing music. He mastered the Guitar instrument like no other, and that became his language.
Wilfrid was a family man to the core, sacrificing personal comfort most times, for the growth of his family. He contributed immensely to the education of his children. He loved his wife, Ossone Francilme. Amongst many other things he loved, his church was his home. His fellow band members were lifelong friends/families he cherished. His love for playing Christian music with his friends changed him for the best!
In 1998, he married his sweetheart, taking the vows of holy Matrimony at this very church and a new chapter began in his life. His life and his love prosper as he and wife Ossone remained married until his passing.
To his 2 daughters, he was an available father. Being there to give the best advice, tell stories of the times when they were yet to be born. The love he shared with his girls was special. He was also a strict disciplinarian, never failing to discipline his children when they veered off the right path. He gave his children the freewill to make their choices, trusting God that their upbringing would direct them in the right path. He lived long enough to witness their successes in school.
Dear Wilfrid, you were a husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many, before death plucked you from our midst. Even though we are saddened by losing you, we take solace in the Word of God which says:
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even if he dies” – John 11:25
And we believe that you are living and resting at the bosom of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
