Joanes Doliscat was born on November 25th, 1967, in Rue Petion, Saint Marc, Haiti to Isemela Duverger Doliscat and Michel Geres Doliscat. Joanes was able to leave Haiti and start a new life in America on February 26th, 1992. He attended Essex County Community College in 1994 and earned his Associates in Engineering Electronics (EE). His love for soccer followed him all the way to America, where he played for the Essex County College Soccer Team and Saint Marc Soccer Club in New Jersey. Joanes worked at Shoprite, Weslande Taxi Services and Newark Airport Taxi Services up until he got sick.
In 2009, Joanes began getting ill and no one could understand what was going on with his body. On November 26th, 2013, while being cared for at Saint Barnabas Hospital, doctors said that he would not live past that specific day due to being diagnosed with Kidney Failure. Fortunately, God was able to bless him with a new bill of life and was able to live for another 8 years.
Joanes was a funny, enthusiastic, and caring person. He was always eager to be as successful as possible and complete all goals he set out for himself. Joanes Doliscat has 4 kids, Joane Doliscat (25) and Monica Doliscat (22) by Kettly Decius; Roodline Doliscat (22) and Gerson Doliscat (19) by Marie Lourdes Decius Doliscat. Joanes is survived by his 4 children, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and 30 nieces and nephews.
In his beautiful life, Joanes Doliscat has touched so many people and will live through them all. He has persevered and remained strong even when he was weak. He would always say “m ta supposer kontan pou kotem te ye a. Gran met la retire mwen li ban mwen la vie”.
