Dear friends and family, Today, we gather to say goodbye to our beloved Brother Johnny Joseph. John, I want to take a solemn moment to honor your memory and express what a loving presence you were in our lives. Your absence left a tremendous void, but your spirit and love continue to inspire us every day. Born in Port-au-Prince on June 8, 1967, Johnny Joseph was the fifth of seven children: Jacquelin Joseph, Joél Joseph (deceased), Nadeige Apollon, Myriam Bien-Aimée, Ernst Joseph, and Ronald Joseph. Johnny completed his primary education at the Jean Marie-Guilloux Brothers School, his secondary education at Lucien Hubert College and the Petit Séminaire Collège Saint Martial. Immediately afterward, he was an engineering student at GOC, with a promising academic career. He taught mathematics in several schools in the capital, and upon arriving in the United States, he earned an A+ certification in computer repair. My brother never dreamed of living in the United States like the rest of our family, but he nevertheless chose to earn a living in Haiti despite the precarious situation our nation was facing. After my mother's death last March, Johnny simply changed his mind, but I can say he made a complete about-face. He stated “I will stay with you here to work, earn money to build what was lost.”
He quickly put his goal into action in search of a better life. But on July 24, 2025, the light that illuminated his path decided to go out forever. I remember Johnny as a person full of life and tenderness. He left behind his nephews and niece Peterson Apollon, Nagela Apollon, Gethro Joseph, Luther Joseph, Jessica Joseph, Jennifer Joseph, Samiria Bien-Aimée, David Bien-Aimée, Daniel Bien-Aimée, Joshua Joseph, Faith Joseph, Grace Joseph, Nehmie Joseph, Clarson Chery.
My brother, as you fly to more clement skies, we promise to continue to honor your memory by living according to the moral values that you taught us. We have lost our brother and the pain cannot be measured. In this difficult time, we would like to simply say thank you to all the people present at this burial ceremony. You have expressed all your affection to our brother in your measure and we thank you affectionately and sincerely.
