Julien Cheridor

Julien “Ti Nonom” Cheridor was born on August 15, 1960, in Des Dunes, Haiti to the parents of Christiane Florestal and father Presandre Cheridor. Julien was part of the police force in Haiti that he was so proud to tell stories of. During his life in Haiti, he had 4 children Robinson, Chrislinda, Julienson and Predson. He left his machete wielding days making his way to the U.S. in 1987. 

He arrived in America and worked as a cabinet maker for some time before becoming a cab driver. In 1988 he met the love of his life Alicette Diogene, which he dated and married on April 10,1992. With their union he became stepfather to Kerlande and together they welcomed 6 children: Judith, Judlande, Emmanuel, Nelson, Cassandra and Stephanie. Grandfather to:  Isaiah, Amariah and Kemoy.

In the late 90s he started his own business as a contractor which was a blessing not to only his family but his friends and church. He made sure his children, both boys and girls, knew how to fix things by themselves using it to be independent. People saw him as a tough individual and yes, he was strict, but he showed his love and care for us in the way he provided for us. 

We’ve learned a lot during the 17 years he’s been sick. How to be strong, resilience, patience, humility and most importantly to always smile. Those who knew our dad knew of that big smile. It was his way of letting the devil know he did not win! 

 We would always ask him, when will you start walking? He’d laugh saying, “don’t worry, map leve, I’m going to walk tomorrow!” Then proceeded to tell us of plans he had for tomorrow. Our dad was not a liar, he’s walking right now with his father in heaven. He didn’t leave us behind; he’s just making preparations for us to be together again. 

On February 27, 2024, God called his son Julien “Ti Nonom” Cheridor to be in his kingdom. Sharing the memories of his blessed and fulfilled life are:

His Grandchildren:  Step Grandson Isaiah Hines, step granddaughter Amariah Hines and Kemoy Smith.
