Kerling Pierre was a radiant soul—a devoted mother, gifted artist, inspiring educator, and loyal sister—who brought beauty, love, and purpose into every space she entered.
Born on November 6, 1984, in Newark, New Jersey, to Rosemaire and Klebert Pierre, Kerling was the middle child of five and the first born in America—blessed with two older sisters and two younger brothers. Growing up, she served as the language bridge in her household, fluently speaking both English and Haitian Creole, helping her family navigate between cultures and communities.
At just 19 years old, she became a mother to her first daughter, Kayla, and later welcomed her second daughter, Alexandra, at the age of 27. Motherhood was Kerling’s greatest joy and proudest role. Her daughters were the center of her world—the source of her strength, pride, and deepest love.
Kerling was a determined and passionate woman. She earned her GED in 2011, her cosmetology license in 2014, and her cosmetology teaching license in 2021—each step a testament to her perseverance and love for her craft. She was a gifted artist with talents that spanned many forms—from her stunning vocals to her creative eye in beauty and design. She loved every role that aligned with her career, including hairstylist, lash technician, nail technician, and makeup artist. As a cosmetology educator, she found joy in teaching others the skills and confidence to express themselves through beauty. Her students admired her not just for her expertise, but for the care and inspiration she shared.
She was a woman of faith who loved God, cherished music, and embraced life with a curiosity to grow, help others, and evolve into the best version of herself. Whether surrounded by family, laughing with friends, or singing her heart out, Kerling made others feel seen, loved, and uplifted.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kayla Faith Pierre and Alexandra Pierre; her beloved sisters, Edelle Kenold and Veronique Pierre Vincent; and her brothers, Kedrick Pierre and Gessie Pierre.
She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Mia and Abygail Kenold, Laila Vincent, Naomi Pierre, Christopher Vincent, Brandon Vincent, and Danke Vincent.
She leaves behind her aunts, Leonie Georges, Manella Georges, and Mirelle Georges; her uncle, Miradieu Georges; and her brothers-in-law, Christian Vincent and Officer Rob.
Kerling is further survived by many cousins who were close to her heart: Nesly Adony, Ronald Isaac, Alexis Placius, Daniel Codio, Chealove Felix, Josias Felix, Emanuella Felix, and Carl Henry Georges.
Kerling’s light, creativity, and love will forever shine through the lives of those she touched—especially through the two beautiful daughters she raised with unwavering pride and devotion.
