Leonie Jules Mercedat was born in Desdunes, Haiti on July 24, 1956 to Francilia Saint-Fleur and Antoine Jules Odige. She departed this world on January 12, 2024, surrounded by the warmth of her loved ones. In pursuit of a better life for herself and her family, Leonie courageously moved to the United States in 1980, where she valiantly worked, diligently supporting her family in Haiti and those in need. Beyond her selfless acts, Leonie held a deep love for Church and valued her relationship with God.
Leonie Mercedat leaves behind a legacy embraced by her surviving family, including her two daughters, Mandchoue Clerfond and Chlamyde Mercedat and their husbands. She is also survived by her grandchildren Casimir Glaude, Cassidy Mercedat, Zachary Clerfond, and Sarah Clerfond. In addition to her immediate family, Leonie is survived by her siblings: Pauline Edward, Miguel Desir, Lomise Desir, Marie Lucie Desir, Pierre Jules Odige, Jules Antoine Odige, Sultera Odige, Thonance Odige, Fritz Odige, Yonel Odige, Sabine Odige Alsas, and Jackson Odige. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to bring comfort and inspiration to those who were touched by her remarkable presence.
