Litylus Constant Obituary

Litylus D. Constant affectionately known as Constant, Daddy, and Pipa was born on May 2, 1949 in Desdunes, Haiti.  He was born to the late Dieufaite and Altina Meronvil Constant amongst a family of thirteen (13) children.

At a young age he changed his name.  We know him as Litylus D. Constant, but he was actually born Myrtil D. Constant.  It is also worth mentioning that out of all of his siblings, he is profoundly called CONSTANT.  He is the only one that is called by the family last name, which signifies his character, boldness and tenacity.

Perhaps he is known as CONSTANT because of the instrumental role he played in bringing his family to the United States of America.  He made it his life mission to bring every single family member to the United States.  Along the way he also helped bring his friends into this country.  With every successful entry he also established shelter and a life for his loved ones

While in the U.S. he met his wife, Marie F. Raime (Tooffie).  Together they established a family of seven beautiful children.  As a father, he was devoted to the care of his children.  He was a family man, driven by the ideals of his faith in Christ.  His passion of Christ accompanied by his wife's devoting faith, laid the foundation of  the "Constant family household" where each member would strive to do all things with love, find strength, believe in one another, push past obstacles, count and appreciate their blessings and make memories together.

CONSTANT loved playing the guitar and listening to music.  His favorite genres were gospel, haitian and country.  He was an avid wrestling and soccer fan.  He also enjoyed gardening.  He would plant fruits and vegetables and harvest for the winter time.  His garden staples included grapes, blueberries, tomatoes, okra, eggplant, and lalo.  He was also a dedicated landlord who loved managing his properties and interacting with his tenants.  He worked tirelessly even beyond his retirement in 2015 from the United Stationers

On January 24, 2021, CONSTANT was called home to be with the Lord.  He will be reunited with his mother, father, his brothers Raoul and Edom and his daughter Ashley Normelie Constant.  His family endeavors to keep his legacy alive forever...Forever Constant.  Sharing the memories of his wonderful life are his wife, Tooffie; his children, Emmanuel, Manoushka, Kevin, Benjamin, Mitchell, Rachel, his grandchildren: Trinity, Parker, Roman Paris and Phoeniix Love; his brothers Narcisse, Monteny, Devaillant, Innocent, Ovitchel and Christopher Constant; His sisters, Lamercie Victor, Niclese & Dieumaine Constant and countless family and friends.
