Madeleine Nelson nee Madeleine, Medilien was born on January 2nd 1948 to the loving parents of Philipe Medilien (deceased) and Ermicia Louis (deceased) in Petit Goave, Haiti where she grew up in a loving church-going house. She was the youngest of 9 siblings. As a teenager she loved spending time at the beach, swimming and spending time with her family. In September 1973, she married Jean Octavius Nelson and had 3 children. In the early 1980’s Madeleine moved to the United States.
Madeleine studied Nursing at Passaic Community College. She was employed at Veterans Home Paramus, New Jersey until retirement. Made enjoyed learning, teaching new nurses and utilizing her skills within her nursing career. She was affectionately known as Made. She loved having her family around , was so supportive of her family and everyone else that needed her help, that throughout her life with her children growing she instilled life changing values, and this extended to everyone that she crossed paths with. Always encouraged everyone she crossed paths with male or female to go to nursing school lol inside joke. She loved giving advice as well as a compassionate ear to people, with a golden heart she inspired others to do their best and to reach their goals in life.
She leaves to mourn supporting and loving spouse Jean Octavius Nelson and her loving children : Fritz Gerald Nelson, Danielle Nelson and Mona Nelson. A host of caring brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews, other family members, caring coworkers and friends. Our mother's perseverance through adversity is a powerful lesson for us and I believe is her legacy.
