Majeur Andre Richemond was born in Desdunes Haiti on March 14, 1944 To the late Martelus Pierre Richemond and Celimene Oscar. He married his first wife Lily Pierre in 1976 and in 1977 he emigrated to the United States in search of a better life. In 1980 he met and fell in love with Rosalee Givens and later married in 1981. They were married for 31 years until his wife’s passing in 2012. Majeur was an active young man, strong willed, very tough, hard working and resilient. He created his own transportation and riding business. As a result of his business creativity, many people in his community had the opportunity to go to work and obtain transportation. Many people might think it was just a business but it was more than that. It was a community service, a helping hand to those in need of transportation. He was a pillar in his family and worked very hard. He brought all his children to America including many nieces and nephews and many others for better opportunities. My father taught us the value of hard work.
After the passing of his wife, in 2019 he decided to sell his home and relocated to Orlando Florida with his youngest daughter. After a few short years he became ill for unknown reasons. He was never able to return home from the hospital and ended up in a nursing home for the remainder of his life. He fought until the very end. On April 12, 2025 he was called home to the Lord at the age of 81. He left behind 11 children: Brugrarnel Richemond, Elgenie Richemond, Kenol, Richemond, Florence Richemond, Andre Richemond, Bergemanie Richemond, Josianne Richemond, Wideline Richemond, Evelyne Richemond, Mikerlange Richemond, Nahomie Richemond. Added to the list are 33 grandchildren.
Majeur was the prototype of an individual who could create anything out of nothing. As a father, he gave his children enough confidence to live independently. We will always remember our father as a man of strength and resilience. He will live in our memories and our hearts forever. He was predeceased by his son Pompidou, He leaves behind many brothers and sisters, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
