Marie Sonia Domercant

Marie Sonia Domercant was born on August 1, 1937 to parents Livie Duplessis and Dieusifort Domercant in Aux Cayes, Haiti. Since in Haiti she has been working hard to take care of her two kids and when she came to the United States in 1981, she continued to work hard to bring her kids to the US.

As she was here before her kids, she started studying the Bible, and when their kids came, they took over the study and brought her to baptism in 1993, when she dedicated her life to Jehovah. Not too long after she was baptized, she got very sick and underwent 2 open heart surgery and took a firm stand on blood transfusion issue which was remarkable. Although her life was in danger, she was determined to remain faithful to Jehovah until the end.

It’s like Jehovah rewarded her by adding 25 years to her life just like He did with Hezekiah. Although her health was declining, she was always active in the ministry and even took auxiliary pioneering from time to time when she could.

But for the last 6 months, her health kept declining. And finally, she passed away on February 13, 2019 at the age of 81 years old with her family around her. We know that she’s taking a nap now, and she is in Jehovah’s memory for all that she has done, and we are all going to miss her, but with the hope

of the resurrection that we have, and she also had, we cannot wait to see us mother, grandmother, sister and friend in the beautiful paradise that Jehovah God promises us through his Son Jesus Christ.

She was surrounded and supported by her family during his final days. She will forever be remembered by her beloved Sons and Daughters: David Domercant and wife Phoebes Domercant, Perpetue D. Joseph and her husband Loty Joseph; Brother: Thomas Blaise; Sisters: Simone Pierre and Marthe Oreste; Grandchildren: Lovadney Joseph, Perry Joseph, Henchel Nicholas Joseph, Doreene Michaela Domercant, Neilly Joseph, Darren Kyle Domercant Delon, Kayden Domercant.
