Marie Anouthe Clermont

Marie Anouthe Clermont was born on February 10th, 1924, in Saintard, Arcahaie, Haiti; to the parentage of Dumorier Clermont and Rosana Duverger. Anouthe was a very successful businesswoman, trading tobacco and was able to open her own store. From an early age, Anouthe taught her children to cook extraordinary culinary dishes. Family and friends raised under her care learned to become self-reliant and independent. She was a strong advocate for education and sent all children under her care to the best schools in Port-au-Prince. She loved to travel and visited Canada, the United States and particularly the continent of Africa. On January 5th, 2009, she permanently immigrated to the United States and five years later she became a U.S. citizen. While residing in the U.S., Anouthe cared deeply for her family. She was an avid reader and loved French music and Haitian comedy. She served as the unifying force in her family. A loving Christian woman, who always had a kind word and a bible scripture to quote. On November 10th, 2023, Marie Anouthe Clermont was called by the Lord to her eternal rest. Sharing memories of her wonderful life are her daughters Marie Carmel Clermont, Marise Clermont, her grandson Stanley Célestin, her grand-daughter Naima Savre, her great grandson Liam Célestin, and the families Antoine, Charles, Clermont, Savre, Eugène, André, Melon, Mertus, Monplesir, Mouscardy, Paul, Richard, Saintellus, Toussaint, Marcellus, Barthelemy, Beausil, Cidoine, Deshommes, Gilles, Goudou, Jean, Pierre, Smith, and Simon.

 Marie Anouthe Clermont, fille de Dumorier Clermont et de Rosana Duverger, est née le 10 février 1924 à Saintard, Arcahaie, Haïti. Anouthe était une femme d'affaires très prospère, avec des intérêts commerciaux dans le tabac et elle put ouvrir son propre magasin. Dès son plus jeune âge, Anouthe apprit à ses enfants à cuisiner et à réaliser des plats culinaires extraordinaires. Les enfants qui ont grandi avec elle ont été élevés pour devenir autonomes et indépendants. Ardente défenseure de l’éducation, elle a envoyé dans les meilleures écoles de Port-au-Prince tous les enfants dont elle a eu la garde. Ses voyages ont été nombreux et divers, visitant le Canada, les États-Unis et surtout le continent africain. Le 5 janvier 2009, elle émigra définitivement aux États-Unis et devint citoyenne américaine cinq ans plus tard. Tout en résidant aux États-Unis, Anouthe prenait toujours soin de sa famille. Elle était une fervente lectrice et aimait la chanson française et la comédie haïtienne. Elle a été une force unificatrice de sa famille, une chrétienne aimante qui avait toujours un mot d'amour et une citation biblique à partager. Le 10 novembre 2023, Marie Anouthe Clermont a été rappelée par le Seigneur à son repos éternel. Ses filles Marie Carmel Clermont et Marise Clermont, ses petits-enfants Stanley Célestin et Naima Savre, ainsi que son arrière-petit-fils Liam Célestin, et les familles Antoine, Charles, Clermont, Savre, Eugène, André, Melon, Mertus, Monplesir, Mouscardy, Paul, Richard, Saintellus, Toussaint, Marcellus, Barthelemy, Beausil, Cidoine, Deshommes, Gilles, Goudou, Jean, Pierre, Smith et Simon ont construit avec elle et auprès d’elle des souvenirs de vie merveilleux et inoubliables.
