Marie Clara Cadet Obituary

Fred St. Amand Jr. Would Like To Extend His Deepest Condolences To The Many Friends & Family Of Marie Clara Cadet.

Marie Clara Eloi was born on May 23, 1965 from the union of Brutus Eloi, deceased, and Lucienne Balan Eloi. She was the third child of four siblings: her older brother Herard Eloi, who passed a few years ago, her older sister Marie Erna Eloi, and younger sister Marie Guerlande Eloi Leon. She also had two older half-brothers: Frantz Eloi and Edward St. Pierre. To her close friends, relatives, and members of her church, Marie was best known by her middle name: Clara. Clara completed elementary school in Haiti in 1979 at the Sisters of St Joseph of Cluny in Petion-Ville, middle and high school in 1986 at the Sisters of Charity of St. Louis, in Bourdon, and four years of college majoring in Finance at the Institute for Higher Commercial and Economic Studies in Port-au-Prince while working at the State Telecommunications Company. On December 16, 1989, Clara happily married her close friend and fellow church member Jean Paul Cadet at the Assembly of God church in Petion-Ville. In 1991, Clara and Jean Paul both decided to leave Haiti and permanently reside in the United States. There, they had their daughters Katsiah Clare Cadet in 1993, Vanesha Paule Cadet in 1995, and Stephanie Luce Cadet in 2000. Her family attended Sentina Maranatha Church, where she was an active member for 26 years. Clara had served as youth choir director, worship team member, president of the women’s ministry, health advisor, and, most recently, head of the church fundraising committee. Clara began working in the medical field in 1992 at St. Ann Villa in Florham Park. In May of 2010, she became a Neurology nurse at St Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, winning the Nurse of the Year award for the Med-Surge Division in 2015. Clara obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Kean University in 2014, and most recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Nursing at Felician University in 2018. Clara was preparing for her Board Certification Exam to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. Clara was a reserved, private, and true person. She was a woman of integrity; a woman of God. Clara deeply loved her husband and her children, and she even had endearing nicknames for them. Her family was her greatest concern before the day of her surgery on September 20, 2018. There was still much more that she wanted to do and experience, but the Lord called her home on the night of the surgery. Although Clara is gone now, she has left behind a legacy. She was a beautifully kind and intelligent, wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, coworker, and teacher. She was an inspiration to everyone she met, and she will be dearly missed.  May her soul rest in peace.
