Marie E. Leger was born in Port- Au- Prince, Haiti on February 21st, 1949, to Hermithe Gabriel and Herard Debrosse.
Marie attended elementary school at JB Derroux and went on to Franck Etienne college. After graduating, Marie became an Elementary school teacher, doing exactly what she loved to do, which was educating and caring for children. After meeting Gaspard Leger at the school in which she was working, Marie fell in love and soon after they were happily married. Later on in their marriage they were blessed with 5 wonderful children. She then left Haiti and came to the United States in the year of 1997 & resided in Delray Beach, Florida for about 2 and a half years. In the year 2000 she left Florida & moved to New Jersey to help take care of her grandchildren.
Marie was an amazing wife, mother, sister & best of all grandmothers. She was divine, driven, a care giver, selfless, kind, loving, an amazing listener and always willing to help take care of anyone. Everyone was her baby. Marie was also a Godly woman always praying for others & giving great advice. She attended and became a member of the Eglise de Dieu Missioniaire pour Christ on South Orange Avenue in Newark, NJ where she gave her life over to Christ and also had been baptized.
On December 22,2023 Marie E. Leger went on to her next life. She leaves behind siblings: Wilson Debrosse, William Debrosse, Adeline Debrosse, Victoire Pierre Louis, Mariana Etiene, Evelyne Debrosse, & Caroline Debrosse
Children: Marie Carole Leger, Kimberly Yolande McMillan, Chantal Leger, Stevenson Leger, Dady Leger, Guerline Victor, and Gaston Victoro
Grandchildren: Natalie Pierre, Makelita Leger, Kenneth Leger, Bloody Pierre, Daphney McMillan, Nerla Kedeline, Steeve Leger, Steven Leger, Neica Leger, Jessica Leger, Rebecca Leger, Brenda Leger, Dadmuel Firmin, Samantha Firmin, David Jean- Baptiste, Dotti Benoit, Destiny Dort, Venel Dort, Amanada Leger, Diamond Burgess, & Tadjana Desauguste.
Great Grandchildren: Saintiana Goodness, Cendy Labonte, Dalhard Pierre, Prince Lentz Pierre, Alana McMillan, Dieverson Leger, Hazel Watford, Coriolan Wawa, Dominik Jean- Baptiste, and Princess Neila.
Marie was a Loving and dedicated mother to her children and Family. She was a comedian, loved to dance, listen to music, read her bible and spend time with her family. One thing she teaches her loved ones is to always love and care for one another no matter the distance because we are family.
