Marie Jocelyne Gelin

Marie Jocelyne Gelin, born on May 19, 1950, in Croix Des Bouquets, Haiti, to the late Antoine Gelin and Maritza Joseph, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024, to be in Jehovah's memory. Marie Jocelyne's life was marked by adventure, dedication, and unwavering love for her family.

In her 20s, Marie Jocelyne embarked on a journey that took her to the Dominican Republic, Panama, and Venezuela. While in the Dominican Republic, she secured a visa that allowed her to fulfill her dream of coming to the United States. Once in the U.S., Marie Jocelyne dedicated her life to caring for her family in Haiti and her beloved daughter, Marie Edblyne.

Marie Jocelyne worked tirelessly as a Home Health Aide at Sunrise and Brookdale Senior Living institutions. She was not only an exceptional caregiver but also a pillar of strength and support for her family. Her strong personality, sharp sense of humor, and her ability to put people in their place when needed. Marie Jocelyne's love for television brought her joy, particularly when watching her favorite shows: Wrestling, Family Feud, Mrs. Doubtfire, and The Price is Right. Following the sudden passing of Edgard Elysee, the father of her child, she instilled in her daughter the values of hard work, dedication, and prioritizing family.

Marie Jocelyne leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her only child, Marie Edblyne Elysee-Cadet. Son-in-law, Garvin Rene Cadet and granddaughter Savannah Belle Cadet. Her stepchildren: Anaida Elysee and family, Ricky Elysee, and Gary Elysee, will also carry her memory forward. She is deeply mourned by her siblings, Angelique Gelin, Marie Atalande Gelin, Jean Michel Gelin, Jean Gemps Gelin, and Jean Serra Gelin.

Her nieces and nephews: including Jean Joceton Gelin, Jean Jules Gelin, Nadage Gelin, Natacha Gelin, Fouchard Junior Gelin, Herby Gelin, Michelot Gelin, Wensterley Benshy Gelin, Rachisza Gelin, Marie Michelle Gelin, Chev Chelios Gelin, Tamicha Gelin, Jermiah Gelin, Chidrensky Gelin, Adias Gelin, Desmond Gelin, and Sierra Emma Gelin and family, will remember her with fondness.

Marie Jocelyne is also survived by her cousins: Celine Gelin, Nicole Gelin, Jean Marie Gelin, Gracia Gelin, Sebastien Gelin, Magalie Gelin, Jean Robert Gelin, Marie Carmelle Pdynice, Gladys Michel, Stella Gelin, and Raynald Michel, Clairena Gelin Cheremond, Jonas Gelin, Herby Gelin, Roselaure sa filleule Gelin , Evens Gelin ,Patrick Gelin. Her aunt and uncle: Jean Jules Gelin and Bertha Gelin, will forever hold her in their hearts.

Marie Jocelyne Gelin was an extraordinary mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and grandmother. Her legacy of love, strength, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
