In loving memory of a Remarkable Woman, “Marionise Vital”
Marionise Vital was a loving person who poured a great deal of unconditional love into the lives of many people. She was always a constant source of comfort, support, and love for her husband, her children, brothers, sisters and extended family members. All of us who had an encounter with Marionise can share countless memories that we will treasure in our hearts forever. She was a woman of great faith, a woman of great integrity and a prayer warrior. She was an extraordinary wife, a loving mother, and a generous sister to the church members and the close friends in the community.
When she was healthy, she always looked forward to going to church prayer services, picnics, visiting old friends in Boston, and Montreal. Despite her illnesses, she also enjoyed going on vacations with her children and grandchildren. Her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchild, her siblings, and her friends were the pride and joy of her life. Her heart was always opened ready to give and to embrace anyone who comes to her way.
One of my most treasured memories of her is in the kitchen. Her house was always filled with guests because of her cooking and her manners in making people feel welcome and at ease. She was well known for cooking her special dishes like: rice with white beans and okra (kalalou gombo), lalo, legume militon, rice-bread/pie (pain du riz), confiture (Jelly). Not only she was a great cook and no one cooks like her, but also she used to cook with passion and great fun. We pray and hope that her legacy, her kind spirit, her passion for serving and giving would live through all of us she had influenced.
Marionise Vital was born on March 8, 1942, of parents Joseph Jean-Baptiste and Dieulicia Saintvil in Desdunes Haiti. She was the second of 8 children of Joseph and Dieula. At the age of 24, she married Mr. Octave Vital, son of Clémaire Vital and Julienna Deshommes on July 16, 1966. From that union in Haiti, born her first 3 children: Jacob, Renal and Olivienne. On June 2, 1975, she left Haiti to join her husband Octave Vital in the US and from here, she gave birth to two more children, Goram and Vivian.
So, she was blessed with five children above; ten grandchildren: Ayahna, Bianca, Abigail, Ethan, Jaelle, Annette, James, Dacheler, Jeremiah, Jahleel-Logan; and one great grandchild: Aria-Saphire Armstrong.
She left behind her sisters Evane Jean-Baptiste, Hermise Soide; her brothers: Hercule Jean-Baptiste and Pastor Pierre Jonas Jen-Baptiste; her sisters in-law: Herzula Jean-Baptiste, Edith Jean-Baptiste, Yvonne, Yolande, and Orelianne; her brothers in-law: Amiçon Vital, Lyonel Vital, Marc-Andre Vital; her daughters in-law: Sulianne Vital and Tess Vital; her sons in-law: Ricardo Michel and Olgens Evra. Many aunts, cousins, Nephews, and nieces.
She was predeceased by her older brother Hector Jean-Baptiste, her younger sisters Olaine Prince and Odile Jean-Baptiste, her brothers in-law: Harmony and Jerome François, Pierre André Vital, Jacques Vital; her sisters in-law; Alissa, hymène, Jésula, Lifaite, and Jerda.
After fighting hard for a long time with mental illness and hypertension diseases, God, her maker, had finally called her home on May 29, 2024, at 8:30 pm in Orange New Jersey. In memory of Marionise Vital, let us live our lives with the same love and kindness that she showed us. Rest in peace my dear sister, farewell, you will forever be in our hearts.
