Marthe Suzanne Emogene was born on October 25th 1995 to Haitian parents Leonel and Miraltha Emogene at Beth Israel Hospital, Newark New Jersey. She was 25 years old and resided in Montclair, New Jersey for the majority of her life. She graduated from Montclair high school in 2013 and continued on to earn her B.S in Communications Studies, concentration being Speech Pathology at William Paterson University. Also, while attending William Paterson University she was the president of the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship for two years.
Marthe was also an assistant school teacher at Sawtelle Learning Center in Montclair, New Jersey where she worked with kids with special needs. She was an active member of both Christ and Hawthorne Gospel Church. At Christ Church, she was involved with Quest College Ministries and in Deeper Encounter and contributed to the family of faith amongst our college. The college students were impacted and inspired by her faithful commitment to the Lord and her prayers. At Hawthorne Gospel Church, she was involved with the following ministries starting with Community/College & Young Adult, and continuing on with Women’s ministry, Prayer, Missions, Perspectives, Café 1040, and Grief Share. Also, in addition she was involved in Vacation Bible school and College-Age Small Groups. Marthe loved to read her Bible, write scriptures and attend church. She would always pray for all her friends and family on a daily basis. Marthe loved nature, animals, poetry, coloring, knitting, and exercising.
Marthe is survived by both parents Leonel and Miraltha Emogene, her two older sisters Maranatha and Tracy, and brother Job. Along with her grandmother Imene Emogene and a host of loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
