Melianne Buissereth Obituary

Melianne “Ada” Buissereth was born December 4, 1943, in beautiful Fond des Blanc, Haiti and moved to Port-Au-Prince in her later life. Her parents were Elianne Gerome and Emilien Buissereth.  She was the second eldest of seven. After finishing her formal education, Ada ran a small business from her home while raising her only son, Emmanuel. She worked extremely hard to provide financially and emotionally for him. She taught him the value of hard work and being a good person, as she herself was.

Ada enjoyed her travels to the U.S. to visit her son and grandchildren. During such visits she was a great help to her family, helping with the care of the children. To assist further and be closer to her son, she decided to permanently reside in the U.S. in 1999.

While residing in the U.S., she was cared and provided for by her son, Emmanuel who deemed loving that she works enough and didn’t need to work while in the United States. Instead of working a secular job, she helped her son with his business and care for his children. She enjoyed listening to cultural music, spending quality time with her family, and had scheduled programs she wouldn’t miss.

In 2002 she met the Jehovah Witness in their house-to-house ministry work. Although, she was hesitant at first to accept the offered bible study, she was always respectful and listened to the message they brought. The Witnesses’ saw a ‘sheep in power’ and persisted visiting her regularly. Their tenacity touched her heart, and eventually agreed to a Bible Study.

She enjoyed what she was learning about her creator Jehovah, and quickly made changes to conform to bible principals. In 2005 she expressed her desire to become a servant of Jehovah This desire became a reality on October 7, 2005, as she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnessed. She often expressed how this was the happiest day of her life, heightened by the presence of her son, Emmanuel, who always supported his mom in anything that was important to her. Always desiring to give Jehovah her very best, she would ask one of her ‘spiritual mothers’ to assist her in understanding the meetings so she can offer Jehovah praise amongst the assembly. When she would make comment, she would be so joyful for the whole day, talking about it during entire her car ride back home from the meetings, in 2010, she learned that it would be possible to give her father, Jehovah God, even more by becoming one a permanent auxiliary pioneer. She never missed her hourly engagement in this privilege of service, she would lovingly call handing in her monthly field service report, which was always on time, her ‘monthly check’ to Jehovah. The pandemic did not slow her down. As a fire in her heart, preaching the good news was her passion and she was in Zoom for field service regularly. “Voye l ale” was her catch phrase. Melianne lived the truth, refusing to even think about doing anything that would offend her god. She was faithful to the very end of her life. She even requested a translator to make sure the hospital staff knew she was one of Jehovah’s witness and would not transgress Jehovah’s laws. It is certain Jehovah is very proud of his daughter and will remember her zeal and faithfulness during the resurrection of the dead.

On Monday, July 26th, 2021, Ada, took her last breath after courageously fighting a long health struggle. She is resting in her creator’s memory waiting to hear her name. Sharing the memories of her wonderful life are:
