In 1981, Nacelia left her family back in Haiti to embark on her journey to the United States. Nacelia received support from family in which she would split her time between Brooklyn, New York and Newark, New Jersey. She decided to permanently remain in Newark NJ. She was able to obtain employment, and the support of family made her transition to the United States seamless.

In the year 1984, she joined the choir and met a handsome young man that was mesmerized by her beauty. Nacelia met Joseph Manius Pierre and began dating, they soon married at Haitian Bethel Baptist Church. The happy couple were filled with jubilee to discover they were expecting a child.
Many years later in 2001, Mr. Pierre suffered a stroke and passed on to glory. The sadness of losing her soulmate was a battle that was almost insurmountable. Nacelia continued to have difficulty with navigating through life ‘s major changes without her best friend. Nacelia spent her time raising her daughter and being an active member of her local church.
Mrs. Pierre was a member of House of Prayer and Deliverance Tree of Hope. Her passion for ministry, especially when ushering during the services, brought her such glee. Mrs. Pierre finds joy in creating a warm and welcoming home for her family, where laughter and cherished traditions are abundant. Nacelia loved to attend family gatherings, especially the annual family reunion. “Family Love is Forever” is the motto and she always smiled excitedly to talk about all the fun that was had.
