Nagela Philippe, 52, passed away on January 7, 2026. Born May 1, 1973 in Desdunes, Haiti, she was the beloved daughter of Saintlouis and Makilay, and the second youngest of nine children.
Nagela was the devoted mother of her children and a loving grandmother, whose presence was a source of strength and comfort to her family. In 2002, she journeyed to a foreign land without knowing the language, guided only by familiar faces from Desdunes and Port-au-Prince, driven by two things—a steadfast will and her newborn child. Through courage and perseverance, she built a life rooted in love, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to her family. She is also remembered by the father of her children and by countless other loved ones whose lives she touched deeply.
Known for her selflessness, Nagela dedicated her life to helping everyone around her. She carried a comforting aura wherever she went, paired with a joyful spirit, a warm sense of humor, and a beautiful, unforgettable laugh. She was deeply humble and charitable, always putting others before herself and offering kindness without expectation.
Nagela’s love, generosity, and gentle presence will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
