Osmane Vilbrun was born on September 24, 1945, to the late Omane and Gracieuse Vilbrun in the city of Thomaso, Haiti. He was raised in a Christian household, where his parents instilled Christian morals. As a young child, he enjoyed going to church and serving the Lord Jesus Christ. Osmane attended Lycee Antenor Firmin, Port-au-Prince, Haiti. After graduation, he worked as a supervisor for the department of Transport and Communication, where he became a supervisor for 5 years. Osmane then joined the Haitian Air Force, where he specialized in Aviation Mechanics for a period of 6 years. He retired as a sergeant.
Osmane Vilbrun sadly passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. That particular day will never be the same for the Vilbrun’s family, when our beloved Father was called home by His creator. As sad as that day was, as much as we have cried, we take comfort knowing that our beloved dad is now rejoicing in Heaven. We firmly believe that he was happy to have spent his final days on earth surrounded by his loving family. The Lord says where 2 or 3 gather in my name “there I am in their midst”. Throughout this difficult time, we held his hand, sang, read psalms, prayed, and he left us in the presence of the Lord. We wholeheartedly believe in our Christian values, and we know many of you who are reading and listening to our testimony believe in this as well too. As we celebrate the time that we were blessed to have Rev. Osmane Vilbrun on this earth, we are certain that one day, we will say hello to him again in Heaven. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.
Osmane was blessed with a loving family. On July 31, 1971, our father married his best friend, childhood sweetheart and the love of his life in “Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where they had four children. Osmane helped raise his children with the love of God, patience, discipline and humility. In “1982,” he migrated to the United States in search of a better life for his young family. He left his wife and four children back in Haiti. Osmane came to the United States with three things only: God, Love for his family, and $5 American dollars. The couple was physically living apart for a “short while” but were never apart spiritually or emotionally apart. In “1984”, Osmane was able to bring his wife to the United States. A year later, they welcomed their 5th child, daughter Andromaque. In “1986,” Osmane was able to bring his four children into the United States.
Living in the United States with a family of seven was not an easy task. However, a spiritually focused Osmane had God and love for his family that fueled him. With a Taxi Driver salary, Osmane worked tirelessly to raise 6 children successfuly, and they were able to accomplish the American dreams
Osmane taught his household three amazing principles. God (and all the principles thereof), Family second, and Academics. Osmane was very involved in ministry, specifically at the First Haitian Baptist Church of Manhattan. Osmane was later on promoted to Deacon Osmane. He was also the church choir director for over 30 years. I think God will never forget, Rev. Emmanuel Anorjuste, Deacon Fontaine Fresnel, and Deacon Osmane Vilbrun, who worked tirelessly to build and lead the First Haitian Baptist Church of Manhattan. Deacon Osmane focused on spiritual academics and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies from The James Boyce College of The Bible. Shortly after he was ordained as Rev. Osmane Vilbrun. We state this with surety in our hearts. Bro. Osmane, Deacon Osmane, Rev. Osmane, …. The one he was mostly proud of was Brother Osmane. He lived a simple life that allowed his children to live amazing lives.
Rev. Osmane also has an active ministry back in Haiti where he Pastored a church and supported orphan children. After retirement Osmane pursued his duty as a minister where he preached the gospel of God throughout multiple outlets: his home church Premiere Eglise Baptiste Haitienne de Manhattan, The Sanctification Assembly of God (Led by his close friend and advisor Rev. Carlo Nazaire), His other home church in Haiti, and few radio and telephony outlets.
God is the owner of the Garden. He pulls his fruits whenever he wants. On December 6, 2022, at 5:37 pm, God needed his fruit Brother Osmane Vilbrun. Job 1:21 says the Lord gives and the Lord takes, blessed be the name of the Lord. Well, we thank God for giving us, and we thank him also for taking and receiving his servant. We remember as a family as we sat there with him holding his hand, singing and praying, we said:
“Well Done, good and faithful servant, enter into your rest”
“You have fought a good fight; you finished the race”
Thank you, Lord, forgive all faults, accept your servant
And our father comfortably walked from the presence of God, into the presence of God. It was beautiful. Thank you, dad, for everything you have done for us. Thank you for teaching and giving us what money cannot give. You taught us, God, you taught us, family, we pray that we never forget, and never leave either.
“Well Done, good and faithful servant, enter into your rest”

And if we His beloved Wife, His beloved children, His beloved grandchildren, His beloved extended family, friends, and parishioners want to see him again in heaven, then we should follow in the exemplary life that he leaves behind.
