Pierre Roger Louis-Jean

Pierre R. Louis-Jean, affectionately known as "Boss Milou", was born on February 22, 1956, in Les Cayes, to the late Mrs. Vertillie Louis-Jean and Mr. Maurice Louis-Jean.

Pierre was one of six siblings and a devoted father of seven children—six daughters and one son. He was also a proud grandfather to fourteen grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. He was preceded in death by three of his children and one grandchild.

Before immigrating to the United States, Pierre wore many hats. He worked as a tailor, cultivated rice, served as a foreman in a rice factory, and worked in construction. Through hard work, perseverance, and determination, he provided for his family and earned the respect and admiration of those around him.

In 2001, Pierre immigrated to the United States in search of better opportunities for himself and his loved ones. He never shied away from hard work. Dedicated to supporting his family, he worked two jobs as a dishwasher and prep cook at different restaurants, demonstrating the same determination and work ethic that defined his life.

Pierre was a God-fearing, humble, and generous man who lived his life with passion, faith, and gratitude. Psalm 23 was his favorite scripture and a source of comfort and inspiration throughout his life. He had a deep love for music, especially the songs of Jakito, Bob Marley, and Lucky Dube. Cooking was one of his greatest joys, and he took pride in making sure no one around him went hungry. His home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of a delicious meal. Pierre’s kindness, generosity, and love for others will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Above all, Pierre loved his family deeply and believed in helping others whenever he could. One of his favorite sayings was, “When you share your blessings with others, God will bless you in return.” He lived by this principle every day of his life.

In 2016, Pierre suffered a massive heart attack that significantly impacted his health. While this brought many challenges for both him and his family, it never diminished his strong spirit, love for life, or devotion to those he cherished. Despite his illness, Pierre remained resilient, courageous, and determined to make the most of every day.

On June 13, 2026, Pierre peacefully answered God’s call and entered into eternal rest. Although he will be deeply missed, his legacy of faith, love, generosity, and perseverance will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, wisdom, generosity, and unwavering love.
